The Saint Petersburg Stock Exchange is a stock exchange in Saint Petersburg, Russia. It began trading in 1997. This stock exchange is one of only two stock exchanges in all of Russia. The only other stock exchange in Russia is the Moscow Exchange, which was founded in 2011.
Ever since 2021, the Saint Petersburg Stock Exchange has been branded as SPB Exchange. In 2023, U.S. Treasury Department put sanctions onto the SPB Exchange, which resulted in all remaining American companies withdrawing their securities from the exchange, This moved nearly bankrupted the Saint Petersburg Stock Exchange as shares fell by 34%. Currently, the Central Bank of Russia has launched an investigation into the exchange that is ongoing as of 2026.
