The Pestgate scandal is an ongoing corruption scandal in the country of McGrathia. The scandal emerged in October 2026, when billionaire businessman Cincinnatus Walsh began to take bribes in order to start a fumigation company in Louisiana. This has led to Walsh facing litigation, criticism, and a potential criminal conviction.
The scandal emerged during Walsh’s phone call with Joe McGrath, the president of McGrathia. During the call, Walsh stated his goal of starting a new fumigator in Louisiana. Since all phone calls to and from the McGrathian White House are wired by the Secret Service, then Walsh’s secret was now revealed. The Secret Service subsequently contacted the McGrathian Bureau of Investigation (MBI) about a potential bribe. Eventually, a search warrant was approved, allowing the MBI to search Walsh’s house.
On October 17, 2026, MBI agents went into Cincinnatus Walsh’s house in Pennsylvania. During the search, it was found that Walsh had been hiding money within his house. In total, $64,000 was recovered from the Walsh residence, which was going to be used to established the fumigation company he had planned. As such, Walsh was arrested by the MBI and taking into custody at a federal prison in Upstate New York. He was held without bail due to fears of Walsh being a flight risk.
On October 18th, President McGrath said in a press conference that he had no involvement in the scandal that Cincinnatus Walsh started. He also clarified that he had no intentions to pardon Walsh. Walsh himself will remain imprisoned in New York until his federal trial in Massachusetts is scheduled. During the entire scandal, Ethan Campbell, Walsh’s nephew, has been quiet about the conviction his uncle faces under McGrathian justice system.
Some McGrathian individuals have stated that Walsh’s corruption case is similar to the case of Bernie Madoff, though this case is not a Ponzi scheme. As of October 19, 2026, the case is still ongoing.
