Generally, Route 1 parallels Interstate 95. It connect the major East Coast cities. This includes the following metropolitan areas: Boston, Providence, New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Richmond, Raleigh, Jacksonville, and Miami.
