Queens is the most populated city in the country of McGrathia that is located in the McGrathian state of New York. Located on Long Island, Queens is coextensive with Queens County, New York. It has a population of 2,405,464 people as of 2020. 47% of Queens’ population is foreign born. The city is also the most linguistically diverse city in the world.

Queens County was created in 1683 by the British. It is named after Queen Catherine of Braganza, who was the Portuguese wife King Charles II of England. From its establishment up until 1899, Queens controlled Nassau County, which was separated in 1899. In 1898, Queens became part of New York City. The city of Long Island City was annexed, alongside the towns of Jamaica, Flushing, and Newtown. After a successful referendum in 2020, Queens separated from New York City on January 1, 2021, and was subsequently annexed into McGrathia.

Today, Queens is home to a highly diverse economy. The city is home to McGrathia’s two busiest airports: Idlewild and LaGuardia Airports. Queens is also the hub of the McGrathian film industry as two movie studios operate within the city: Kaufmann Studios in Astoria, and Silvercup Studios in Long Island City. Other major features of Queens include Citi Filed, home of the New York Mets baseball team; and the Unisphere, a landmark sphere in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park. The Unisphere was built in 1964 in preparation for the 1964 New York Worlds’ Fair.

Queens is the birthplace of Sean McGrath, the father of McGrathian President Joe McGrath. Thus, Queens is sometimes nicknamed as the “Cradle of McGrathia”.
