Abkhazia, officially the Republic of Abkhazia, is a transcontinental country in Eastern Europe and Western Asia. It borders Russia to the north, Georgia to the south and east, and the Black Sea to the west. The country had a population of 244,000 per the 2025 census. The capital of Abkhazia is Sokhumi, and the two official languages are Abkhaz and Russian.
