Cape Cod is an arm-shaped peninsula in Southeastern Massachusetts, a state of the United States of America. It is coextensive Barnstable County, one of the 14 counties in the state of Massachusetts. Cape Cod is divided into 15 towns, which are then subdivided into many villages. Cape Cod is the southern boundary of the Gulf of Maine, which extends to the Canadian province of Nova Scotia. Due to its historic charm, beautiful beaches, and maritime character, Cape Cod is a major tourist destination in the summer.
