The People’s Republic of Ireland is a country in Northern Europe that controls a majority of the island of Ireland. It shares its only land border with Northern Ireland, a constituent country of the United Kingdom. Ireland has a population of 5.4 million people. Its capital and largest city is Dublin, which had a metropolitan population of 1.5 million. The country has a Marxist-Leninist government, with the Irish Communist Party as its only legal political party. The head of state and head of government is the Taoiseach, who is appointed by the Supreme Oireachtas to a term of five years.

History (since 2019)

Seamus Donnelly, the Taoiseach of the Irish People’s Republic

In the aftermath of the 2018 Irish presidential election, members of the Irish Labour Party, led by Seamus Donnelly, seized control of Ireland’s political institutions with support from Vietnam and Cuba. Afterwards, the Irish Labour Party merged with the Workers Party to form the Irish Communist Party, which became the country’s sole ruling party. The office of president was also abolished and the Taoiseach became new head of state while also remaining the head of government.

Following the installment of communism in Ireland, the country’s membership in the European Union was revoked. In response, Ireland turned towards isolationism and militarism. The Irish government began to claim Northern Ireland is its own territory, claiming that it was under the illegal occupation of Great Britain. This put Britain’s security into jeopardy as Ireland was allegedly getting nuclear weapons from China and North Korea that could strike anywhere within Western Europe. This made Ireland into a pereia state that threatened peace in Europe.
