The Green Party is a minor environmental socialist political party in the United States of America. It is the second largest third-party in the United States, only behind the Libertarian Party.
The Green Party was founded in 2001 by John Rensenbrook (1928-2022), an activist from Maine, and Howie Hawkins (Born 1952), a UPS delivery driver from Upstate New York. The party was created in the aftermath of Ralph Nader’s defeat in the 2000 Presidential Election.
