Coahuila, officially known as the Republic of Coahuila, is a Spanish-speaking country in North America. It shares international borders Mexico to the south, east, and west. To the north, Coahuila borders the U.S. state of Texas. As of 2026, Coahuila has a population of 3,146,771 people. The capital of Coahuila is Saltillo, which is also its largest city. Other major cities within Coahuila include Ciudad Acuna and Monclova.

Coahuila became an independent country in 2024 after a rebellion against Mexico. The country is governed as a presidential republic similar to the neighboring United States. Currently, Coahuila is a minor ally of McGrathia, who supported them during their rebellion against Mexico. As such, Coahuila is McGrathia’s only ally in Latin America. Coahuila is also a developing country that is trying to industrialize. The McGrathian government has been subsidizing the economy of Coahuila in order to build an alternative to China’s global manufacturing.
