Blueland, officially the Democratic Republic of Blueland is a country in the Horn of Africa which territorial corresponds with the real-world country of Djibouti. It borders Eritrea to the north, Somalia to the south, the Red Sea to the east, and Ethiopia to the west. Blueland covers a territory of 8,958 square miles (23,200 square kilometers). As of 2025, Blueland had a population of 994,728 citizens. The capital of Blueland is the city of Kissigoona, which is the hometown of 75% of the population. Blueland is governed as a presidential republic under a Marxist-Leninist one-party state. The Blueland Workers’ Liberation Party (BWLP) is the only-legal political party in Blueland and headed by General-secretary Warren Warner III, who is also the country’s head of state. Blueland is one of only six remaining communist countries on Earth in the year 2025. 1
History
Blueland was colonized by the British in 1889. It remained a British colony until 1971, when it was granted independence. However, on July 27, 1977, a communist coup overthrew the country’s previous government and installed the BWLP into political power. As a result of the 1977 coup, Blueland became a communist country with a command economy similar to the Soviet Union. The country’s first communist head of state was Warren Warner Sr., who remained in power until his assassination in 1987. After the death of Warren Warner, his 36-year-old son, Warren Warner Jr., was appointed the new head of state by the BWLP.
After the Soviet Union met its demise in 1991, Blueland, unlike other Soviet allies, did not relinquish its communist government. Instead, Blueland declared itself to be the true successor of the Soviet Union, even attempting to take its permanent on the United Nations Security Council, which failed.
On December 10, 2023, Warren Warner Jr. died from kidney failure at the age of 72. he was succeeded by his 40-year-old son Warren Warner III, who has ruled Blueland as General-secretary ever since.
