Mayflower Transit is a moving company based in the state of Missouri. It is owned by UniGroup, a company that also owns United Van Lines. Its agents are owned by independent contractors. The company was named after The Mayflower, a famous 17th century sailing ship that brought the Pilgrims from Europe to Massachusetts.
Mayflower is known for its involvement in moving the Baltimore Colts to Indianapolis, which occurred in the night of March 29, 1984. United Van Lines bought Mayflower in 1995. It moved Mayflower’s headquarters from Indianapolis to St. Louis.
