As of 2025, Blagoveshchensk has a population of 225,453 residents living in its city limits. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The city is located at the confluence point of the Zeya and Amur Rivers. On the opposite side of the Amur River is the Chinese city of Hei-He. Together, the cities of Blagoveshchensk and Hei-He form the largest international metropolitan area between Russia and China.
